Product Delight Moments
Overview
The “Done” interaction is one of the most iconic moments in the Monday product. This project explores how a small, purposeful animation evolved into a scalable in-product brand system.

A Small Easter Egg
In 2021, I launched a small initiative: a holiday ‘Easter Egg’ designed to surprise users with a non-intrusive, winter-themed ‘Done’ animation.
The Result: We saw an immediate viral response on social media and a significant spike in positive CSAT (Customer Satisfaction) mentions. This proved that micro-delight could drive macro-engagement.
Phase 2
Strategic Expansion
Following the pilot’s success, I expanded the initiative to explore how holiday moments could exist across the entire product—without becoming “noise.”
Audit & Intent: I mapped relevant product surfaces across both desktop and mobile—including headers, empty states, and sidebar illustrations—ensuring a consistent experience across all contexts.
The Goal: To validate how these moments behave in different environments while maintaining strict restraint, clarity, and visual continuity.
Phase 3
From Concept to System
To operationalize the system, I worked closely with Engineering to establish reusable templates and implementation patterns, enabling consistent delivery across the product.
The System: We defined interaction behaviors—such as looping, hover states, and trigger logic—ensuring they could be applied reliably across all surfaces.
The Impact: This collaboration enabled the team to deliver 4–5 seasonal experiences per year in a consistent, scalable way, reducing manual design-to-dev handoff time significantly.
Impact
A Recurring Product Ritual
As holiday moments scaled, they transformed from a one-time experiment into a recognizable and expected part of the Monday experience.
Users Noticed
Holiday moments drove a measurable spike in unsolicited positive CSAT mentions, users shared screenshots and tagged monday.com organically, with no campaign spend.
A Scalable Ritual
What started as a one-time easter egg became a repeatable system delivering 4–5 seasonal experiences per year with consistent quality.
